In my last book, Feast of the Forest I thought about the goblin-folk who dwell in the forests below. A rabble of strange, conjuring, curious creatures. Hearth and Hollow is a continuation of this world. I’ve recently come to think about who else inhabits this land? What prowls up above? I’ve also been drawing upon Scottish and Slavic folklore, gathering inspiration from old myths, local legends, and stories passed down through the years.
